ISIS- Terror Uprising

Years ago, there was this rebel group called Al Qaeda, headed by Osama Bin Laden. This group is responsible in the 9/11 Bombing in the United States, where there is a huge number of fatalities. It was in 2011, that Bin Laden was killed by U.S. Soldiers.[1] The death of  Bin Laden, paved its way to peace. But not for too long, years after associated groups of Al Qaeda came into life, the ISIS.
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is an Islamic extremist rebel group controlling territory in Iraq and Syria and also has operations in eastern Libya, the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, and other areas of the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.[2]ISIS is known for its well-funded web and social media propaganda, which includes Internet videos of the beheadings of soldiers, civilians, journalists, and aid workers. There are also mass slaying, people burnt alive and other forms of inhumane killings.

They aim to convert large countries into a Muslim country. They use coercion in order to attain their goals. Coercion is the intimidation of a victim to compel the individual to do some act against his or her will by the use of psychological pressure, physical force, or threats. The crime of intentionally and unlawfully restraining another's freedom by threatening to commit a crime, accusing the victim of a crime, disclosing any secret that would seriously impair the victim's reputation in the community, or by performing or refusing to perform an official action lawfully requested by the victim, or by causing an official to do so. [3]

Clearly, ISIS is a threat in our national security. They put the law in their hands, which results chaos all over the world. Our Revised Penal Code penalizes those who are committing crimes against national security. [4] This threat in our national security also involves our constitutional rights over freedom of religion.

Nowadays, there are news spreading that ISIS is now in the Philippines. Even though there is no material evidence about the existence of ISIS in our country, we should be prepared. We will never know what will happen next.
