Islamic State: What do they want?

ISIS, it is the word we often heard in the news posting videos of Christians regardless of their nationality being beheaded or burned alive. We often hear the people who watch those videos telling the government officials to do the same thing to the said group. They are doing inhumane things that a normal person can’t bear to see, but have we asked why are they doing it? Who are they? Where did they come from?

Islamic State or more so called ISIS more of a cult as they say their ideology is that we are living near the apocalypse and that their actions will eventually hasten the happening of the moment. They believed that the apocalypse is coming and and the real war is not between countries but between Islam and other religions. We barely know what do they believed in. Some also believed that they are Islam extremist. They believe that the Syrian town of Dabiq is where the Prophet Mohammed is supposed to have predicted that the armies of Islam and "Rome" would meet for the final battle that will precede the end of time and the triumph of true Islam. The people should choose in which side the will be when the battle come. They also believed that they are fighting for a good cause, and that they are only fighting for their religious belief at any cause. They gathered people who are not afraid of losing anyone and anything. There are videos that would help us understand the cause of these ISIS, they believed that a territory and recognition is what they need, so they keep on evading cities and making the residents there in slaves and some will be on their video whom they are beheading.

Is there being extremist an excuse to murder someone? Is their religious belief an justifiable cause to murders people? Aren’t they subject to any law and why were they still at large and they continued to evade territories?

Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Expression are the two most rights that may be invoke by the ISIS. Their actions are clearly under the ambit of the law, however why does it seems like the law enforcers are not doing anything to halt them. They only retaliate by killing the members of the ISIS. Is this the application of law that we want to show our next generation?
